B&B in Durham

"This was a nice room for two people and all the facilities were as described. The photos are an accurate representation. Great communication via WhatsApp/text with Kelvin House prior to our departure, which was greatly appreciated. It would be useful to have a mirror in the room as well as in the shared bathroom. We had to wait 20 minutes for the bathroom to be vacated by the folks in the other room in order to use the mirror. The bed pillows were the bolster type and gave us both a stiff neck on the first morning. We had to borrow two normal pillows from relatives in the area so that we could get a good night's sleep. Overall, great accommodation for a short stay in the area though in future we will opt for en suite accommodation."

"This is my third stay at the Indigo and it did not disappoint. My daughter is a U.S. student at Durham and so we love the proximity to her college and the town. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, and the property is clean. The bar and restaurant are both good as is the cafe in the lobby. The Indigo is my hotel of choice when in Durham and I highly recommend it!"

"Always a a good stay with comfortable rooms, helpful staff, and nice food, including excellent breakfast. I would like the bar, restaurant menu to vary though as it has been the same for the many times I have stayed in the last few months. "

"I booked the Pickled Parson for an overnight stay. The hotel and Sedgefield were both lovely. The staff were excellent, welcoming and explained all we needed to know at check-in, which included completing a breakfast form and time for breakfast. This wasn't needed immediately, but sometime before the end of the evening. The bar area was busy, but had enough tables and chairs, there was also a small seating area outside overlooking the village green and in the shadow of the village church, a great spot for a quick drink. We ate in the bar, but there is also a restaurant which is where breakfast is served. The evening meal was fantastic and I thought a reasonable price. The bedroom with ensuite shower was adequately sized, it included a very comfy bed and pillows, tea and coffee making facilities, a radio, and a couple of bedside tables. The only downside was the tv had a poor reception, however, we didn't go there to watch tv. The room overlooked the village green and we were opposite the church. A really lovely spot. If youre a light sleeper the church clock strikes every 15 minutes, but it didn't affect me, and there are some earplugs supplied in the room, a great idea!! The shower wasn't the biggest, but it was big enough, the shower wasn't the most powerful, maybe just the water pressure in an old building. However, it did the job absolutely fine. Breakfast was fantastic, a real treat. Overall, a lovely place and hopefully a return trip will be planned. "

"My first visit to this hotel. Very impressed friendly staff and excellent facilities. Only minor issue, the windows only have blinds, these do not effectively block out the light so awake quite early. On the whole excellent."
