"Love a Crowne plaza, great stay"

"We stayed in an upstairs courtyard room. The room was clean and well presented with the bedding fresh. All the staff that we interacted with were a credit to the hotel and nothing felt like too much trouble. We opted for breakfast each morning of our two night stay and the quality of the ingredients and service were a highlight of our visit. The external door of our block was a problem as difficult to shut without banging and others left it unlocked. We noticed this with most of the courtyard external doors. An interesting place to stay."

"Our room was spacious and the fabrics were lovely. TV didn't work initially but the response was immediate and the problem resolved. All staff we encountered were very polite. "

"For me the hotel represents good value. I like the location by the river and there are plenty of places to eat and drink at within a 10 minute walk. The staff are great, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style but as with all buffets, it’s in the timing. Nice bar which we used as well. Not our first stay here and won’t be the last."

"We were less happy with the room on this occasion, dark sombre furniture, a dusty desk and no view. There was a spacious modernized bath & shower room however. There is a lift for rooms at the front and some stairs for rooms at the back so an odd mix of different levels. Splendid parkland very well maintained. We enjoyed the "Greek night" and the breakfast was equally good so happy with the food and service."

"wow what a fantastic stay. we only stayed for one night but it felt like a few days it was that relaxing. prior to our stay I was emailed about making an offer to upgrade our room, so I put an offer in for a junior suite which was accepted. what a beautiful room.. large, spacious, well set out, amazing bathroom and proper air con that kept the room fresh all night. although the bed was that comfy I could have slept through a heatwave. a special shout out to Ovi at the breakfast. he was the most pleasant, professional and friendly waiter! we were well looked after... so much so that when Ovi found out we were driving back to York he went off and made a pack up for our travels! thank you Ovi! we don't go to Newcastle often but when we go again I'll be back to the Dakota! Fantastic!"
