The location of Twin Pines Lodge was very convenient, affordable and walkable, big pluses and the primary reasons we chose it.
However, the room was a bit run down, and had an overwhelming smell of cleaner or disinfectant when we first entered; we aired it out for about an hour, and then it was ok. I found a half consumed beer in the refrigerator, yuck.
On the plus side, we slept well on the bed, and the temperature in the room was comfortable. Checking in and out was easy. We never saw anybody who works at the lodge, so I can't say one way or the other how to rate the staff, but when I communicated with the "desk" operator before the trip, he was very helpful.
Cheers, Margot
