he Abbey Hotel is centrally located in Donegal Town, which made it incredibly convenient for walking around, sightseeing, and enjoying local restaurants and shops. The staff were kind and helpful, even during what seemed to be a busy event happening on the property the day I arrived — things were a bit hectic, but they handled it well and remained courteous throughout.
That said, there are a couple of things future guests should be aware of: the hotel does not have air conditioning, and unfortunately, this isn't clearly stated on Expedia. My room was very warm, and with the window barely opening, there was little airflow to cool things down — especially uncomfortable for those of us who tend to run hot. This definitely affected the comfort level of my stay.
Overall, the location and staff were great, but the lack of A/C and limited ventilation in the room are important factors to consider, especially if you're traveling during warmer months.
