「The property was a retro experience, which was okay. A few issues: 1. The electrical outlets didn't work well - we plugged a couple of devices overnight and they weren't charged at all by morning. The multi-plug extender provided connections that were too loose to work. 2. The sink was very small (about 8.5 x 11) with a cabinet overhang. It was difficult to impossible to position your mouth over the sink while brushing your teeth. 3. I wanted to lower the temperature in the shower and...

「The non smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes. Bugs alive and dead. Towels were not completely dry. The door to our room stuck and we were unable to open it without another guest’s help pushing from the outside. Would not recommend this property.」

「We booked this hotel as a half way point on our way to Niagara Falls. From the moment we checked in the staff we incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the amenities were nice. My family enjoyed swimming in the pool. It’s near a chilis which was nice to stop and have dinner. If ever in the area again we would stay again!」

「South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.」

「Two things can improved: 1). The bathroom needs to be renovated. It has a dirty look. 2). The security alarm was beeping irritatingly all the first night. This prevented us from getting anywhere near a good night sleep. I did not find the owner very responsive. He said someone would be there by 4 PM the next day」
