「We had a family bedroom with two beds in a quite spacious room above reception. The room was ok but a little tired. Hotel is on the outskirts of Peterborough and we stayed there for easy access to Burghley house and Stamford Village which are 20 to 30 minute drive away. Hotel is quite close to the A1 and also there is a heritage railway nearby. Breakfast was good and was set in the older part of the house. 「Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended.」

「Restaurant for breakfast was really good, tables not too close together. Rooms well looked after with extra items, little coffee machine and planty of choice of teas. Hot weekend so could have done with a fan. Only thing I would suggest is to make signage for reception clearer when arriving from the rear car park. The sign over the door was overgrown...」

Initially the astetics of arriving at the pub/hotel looked promising and the ambiance of the bar area pleasent with polite reception staff.The room (4) was at first site ok, but a more detailed look revealed a more dirty aspect and not as expected. The windows slatted blind very dusty, corner of the bathroom by the door, grime. Black mold in the shower around the metal shelf, the shower head holder broken and loosy fitted the drooping shower head. Under the bed...
