Farmstay in Curaçao

"We recently stayed here for a family vacation and unfortunately the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. One of the biggest issues was the very loud nightly music, which made it difficult for our kids to sleep. After quite a bit of back and forth with management we were eventually moved to another room, which we appreciated, but the process was a hassle. The dining system was also frustrating. Having to stand in line between 10am–4pm just to reserve dinner for the next night felt inconvenient for an all-inclusive resort. We also found the food to be average overall at best. Our son has food allergies, which made dining stressful. At the buffet there wasn’t clear ingredient information, and even at the restaurants it was difficult to get clear answers about ingredients. Service at dinner was also extremely slow, which made the experience even more challenging with kids. Overall, many parts of the resort, including lounge chairs and common areas felt quite dated, and most staff interactions felt somewhat unfriendly until the last couple days of our stay when we did meet a few helpful staff members. Curaçao itself is so beautiful, but the resort experience fell short of what we were hoping. "

"Rooms are very old and mattresses not attached if it’s king, I never see such a small and not comfortable pillows, new building that is with elevator was terrible how can they don’t have AC in the living room . It was so hot ( by going between bedrooms and living room. I thought I’ll get pneumonia.) we would have to keep AC in the bedrooms so cold like freezing just to barely reach living room area. No microwaves in small units . Realfast is terrible and overpriced . I really recommend to go for a walk to a plaza to have real fast . Only think what was amazing that was beach and lounge chairs ( make sure to go early to get a spot ) don’t get first raw because you will be exposed to the sun fully, if you am older person make sure to request 1 st floor closer to the beach but music was so loud we couldn’t fall asleep 👌. Kontiki making party at the breakfast area 2 or 3 times a week so get ready if you are sensitive to. Love you willl not fall asleep. Front desk staff and golf cart people was very nice. Houskeeping was amazing . If you need clean beach towels get ready to go to front desk for that. I will never go back to this place . I was at Lions Dive last year it was 100 times better but beach chairs are not as comfortable . Kontiki have at the checkout a showers but becarful it’s very slippery and very hot , lobby and showers have no AC. Try local restaurant in downtown it’s amazing there. "

"The ocean view was so nice from my room. I celebrated my birthday there. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my time there and would love to come back. "

"Don’t expect a relaxing getaway—with construction pounding next door the pool area is not a relaxing destination. There is kids screaming and running around in the evenings as well as playing in the pool area. Getting your room cleaned daily requires extra stops into the reception area to make sure you weren’t missed. They had to spray my room for tons of mosquitos and other bugs due to the plastic being cracked over the windows. Expect extreme island time for service at the hotel bars and restaurants. The highlight was definitely the massage vendor that came in as an outside service. Amazing views but would definitely not stay here again. "

"Amazing resort. Luxury except the staff was not uptight online other luxury resorts. The optional shower room facilities post checkout are perfect for evening travelers that have checked out. Great facilities, restaurants and quiet beach with plenty of chairs. No loud music, which was nice. I visited other resorts during my travels and they had more of a party vibe. Avila is low key, quiet, peaceful and tranquil. "

"Incredible place if you want to stay in the heart of Willemstad. Rooftop pool was never used during the day, so it felt like I had a private rooftop pool, deck and area. Friendly staff and local to everything."

"The room was generally clean although a bit dated. The staff were friendly and mainly multilingual which impressed me. This hotel is located in the middle of everything you need so the location is ideal. Check in and out was a breeze. The one thing I didn’t like was that they asked us to not take off the AC. As someone from The tropics, I don’t like consistent AC/coldness and there was no area that you could retreat from the cold. "
