"Like the price. Wanted 2nd floor, but got 1st floor...didn't feel as safe for woman alone. My room had one of those doors that adjoins to the next room and has a bolt lock. For over 3 hours that evening I heard loud party music with noise and ladies shouting and singing, but was probably the TV in room next door. Could hear from crack under door bottom and side as if it was in my room! A man was in the room who kept yelling out things out loud while listening/watching, and sneezing, etc. It made me uncomfortable. He awoke at 5:50 a.m. put on light which could be seen under adjoining door and I heard him go to bathroom. He left while I was getting ready, I think. Good thing is that he did go to bed by 10:45 or 11:00, and I did sleep really well and for that I am very grateful!"

"Never states at a horrible motel before. First room had stains all over the baseboards, hair on the bed, unclean floors. The room was not clean. After complaining, the staff changed the room. New room is better, but not great. Bathroom doors don’t even lock. Hard to adjust the water temperature if shower. Except the friendliness of the staff, there is nothing going for this place. Stay away from this place. I am not sure if this area has any better options though."

"Great location, convenient and love Monty’s and like the breakfast buffet option this year, as opposed to the “university level” cafe. Parking was easy and check-in smooth. HOWEVER, usually a pleasant stay at the Madison. This is my 3rd straight year working an event there. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to be “mailing it in” in terms of service this year. Ok, housekeeping is “by request”, by it took 3 requests on a given day to get just a little service to my room. If you ask for “coffee service”, apparently it’s not clear that includes clean cups and compliments (cream and Sugar), not just a couple Keurig Cups. It took 2 more calls to get it right, along with empty trash cans and clean towels Maybe could have explained it away as isolated, yet the conference had problems with coffee service on Monday and the happy hour bar was late on Tuesday. Generally, a good stay with good amenities for the price. "

"I have never been a fan of bed and breakfast places but this place can make you a believer! Location, location, location; can easily walk to historic district. The best feature of this Inn is the gourmet breakfast; we got a different delicious breakfast every day. This historic house is a well maintained beauty that you’ll love!"

"We came for a weekend away. Gorgeous property with beautiful views. Breakfast was fresh, great coffee and fresh juice. We enjoyed sunrise in bed and sunsets on the porch enjoying Grammies ice cream. Very convenient to JMU but we enjoyed Dayton. "
