"Excellent hotel with very helpful staff and a very nice restaurant; close to old town, marina, museums and with its own parking area. Will rebook this hotel the next time we are in Heraklion."

"Aquila Atlantis Hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning and the options available were very good. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds. A building next to the hotel was being renovated/rebuilt and caused noise on some of the mornings we were there even with the window closed. Apart from that the hotel was quiet. We were disappointed that the air conditioning wasn’t available as the room got hot at night. We couldn’t leave the window open because of the building work. We were offered a fan, however. The bathroom was very nice but its layout was a bit strange as the toilet was in the shower cubicle. The shower was big but obviously the floor got wet when someone had a shower as did the toilet. Our only other issue was that because the balcony had a solid cement wall, when sitting on the balcony you couldn’t see anything. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Aquila Atlantic. "

"Staying at the Metropole Urban Hotel in Heraklion was a highlight of our trip. This modern, centrally located hotel was immaculate, well-appointed and comfortable. Our room had a small balcony with gorgeous views of the Cathedral of Agios Minas set on a busy city square lined with restaurant terrasses and loaded with happy families, the children having the time of their lives playing football, hide-n-seek and riding scooters throughout the day and evening. Such an idyllic setting! We were within easy walking distance of shopping and popular attractions such as the Venetian Fortress on the water as well as the extraordinary Archaeological Museum. The staff at Metropole Urban were friendly and professional and the room rate was very reasonable, especially considering the extremely abundant and delicious breakfast that came with it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a memorable Heraklion experience."

"Beautiful property right on the beach. Close to restaurants and bakeries. Plunge pool with outdoor tub was a bonus. They have indoor and outdoor gym. Water was complimentary. As we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, the hotel was very nice to offer us a cake and bottle of wine. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for relaxation. "

"Fantastic facilities and great options for all ages. Food quality is fantastic and the main restaurant has themed nights to keep it varied. Most of the food is also cooked fresh in open kitchens which is great. The dining area can be a bit noisy but there’s an adults only area which I’m sure would be quieter. Room was fantastic for us. We had 2 adjoining rooms for a family of 5 and had 4 separate sleeping areas. Staff were great although the bar staff were always stretched resulting in long queues. Water park area is fantastic. Kids loved it. The option of an indoor pool in low season also great if the weather is not great. Beach area is amazing and so are the never ending pool options. The kids club looked great although our kids were probably on the older side so didn’t participate. The play park is awesome. Huge climbing frames and crazy golf all within a secured gated area. Having the tennis/sports centre facilities adjacent to the hotel is also a great option with free table tennis within the sports centre building. Only suggestion is to consider table service as no one wants to spend up to 15mins queuing at the bar. Not really giving 5 star vibes. Was nice to see the hotel manager getting table service though… All in all, we’d likely return. "
