Scenic harbors and beaches, clear Mediterranean waters, historic architecture and delicious cuisine make this one of Spain’s most appealing areas.

Costa Blanca is a famous region covering over 120 miles (200 kilometers) of coastline. It is located in Alicante province, on Spain’s eastern coast. Discover beautiful natural scenery, swim or snorkel, windsurf, tour impressive castles, taste Michelin-star cuisine and enjoy the buzz of some of Spain’s most popular vacation hotspots.

Visit Alicante, the provincial capital city and an important Mediterranean port. Explore ancient fortresses and walled palaces. Learn the interesting history of each structure and appreciate the beautiful views. Find the iconic Castillo de Santa Bárbara (Santa Bárbara Castle) atop Monte Benacantil (Mount Benacantil) in Alicante’s town center. This impressive fort overlooking the whole bay was of huge strategic importance for the city.

Walk along the famous path Explanada de España, also called Paseo de la Explanada. The picturesque promenade is paved with more than 6 million marble tiles forming a beautiful red, blue and white floor mosaic. Lined by palm trees, it runs parallel to the Puerto de Alicante (Port of Alicante) up to the oldest park in the city, the Parque de Canalejas.

This Spanish region is ideal for those who love watersports. Snorkel or dive in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Discover diverse sea and plant life and explore spectacular marine reserves including Reserva Natural del Cabo de San Antonio. Try windsurfing, waterskiing, kayaking and rowing.

Stop at other interesting cities in Costa Blanca, such as Benidorm and Torrevieja. Benidorm is famous for its many lively bars and nightclubs, while the golden beaches of Torrevieja are the destination of choice for many expats.

Fly to Alicante from several European cities or take a train from other Spanish cities of Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia. From the main bus station in Alicante town center connect with almost every big city in Spain.

Enjoy delicious Mediterranean cuisine in Costa Blanca, from fresh fish and shellfish to the freshest fruits and vegetables. Taste famous traditional dishes, including paella, a dish of rice and seafood served in a large shallow pan.
