The property was very nice but the experience with the front desk and one of the bar tender was not the best. Put it this way, i will not be going back to the Hyatt in the national harbor. It started the minute i book the room, i called to make sure that we got the with the river and ferris wheel. I was told i did, once we arrived to the hotel. The front desk lady was ruled and dry even after saying hello in spanish. She acted like she didnt hear me. After speaking to her again, than she responded to us in English. I ask her again if she spoke spanish and she yes. I really dont way people takes job like this, when customer services is a big thing. After all of that, we did not get the room that i had called to confirm. It was just a parcel room. We tread to give the hotel chance but then the bar tender. Right before taking our order, she apologized to us about not having a good memory. 10 minutes after giving us our drinks. She comes back giving us a second round. We thought she was giving free drinks so i ask her. Is this free, she saids no. Then she said, we order those drink. How can we order a another drink, when we hadn't taking a second zip from the first one. Then with an attitude she saids to us that she place order with just one bar tender when she was the one to give us our first order. The hotel is very clean but none of the matters if the services and the experience you got than everything else means nothing.

We had a king room, which was was very nice because it included a large sitting area with an L-shaped sofa. One of my pet peeves is lack of seating in hotel rooms. It was very clean with a refrigerator and coffee maker. I wish there was an option for task lighting in the sitting area that would be less bright if one of us slept a bit later. We were there midweek to see a band playing in Alexandria. The hotel bar closed at 9pm so we were unable to stop in for a nightcap when we arrived back at the hotel at 10:30pm. If you are on a budget, please note that parking is not included and will cost $25 per night at the nearby garage. Breakfast is $11 PP for a typical serve yourself buffet that is included at many hotels. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place for seven days, and I regret to share that my experience did not meet the standards one would expect from the brand. A particularly challenging moment occurred when a meeting room I had reserved in advance for an important work call was unavailable at the scheduled time. As this had been confirmed the day prior, the lack of accountability or timely resolution was both surprising and disruptive. On the first evening of my stay, I was also impacted by excessive noise and the odor of marijuana coming from a neighboring room. While I appreciate that the concern was addressed after being reported, it nonetheless created an uncomfortable first impression. Throughout the week, there were notable inconsistencies in service. I understand and respect the intention behind welcoming local police officers for breakfast to promote a sense of safety; however, the execution appeared to unintentionally disadvantage paying guests. Officers frequently occupied the designated loading and unloading area, limiting access for guests arriving or departing with luggage. Additionally, breakfast offerings were often depleted, leaving guests without the amenities included in their stay. On a separate evening, we visited the on-site restaurant, Bar Harbor, for a late dinner and were reminded of closing times in a manner that felt less than hospitable, despite arriving within operating hours. Taken together, these experiences suggest opportunities for improvement.
