「My remote for the tv did not work, I asked them to get one from an empty room and they said they can’t do that because if someone booked it that person wouldn’t have a remote. I said I’m here and I don’t have one??? Like wth?? The fire alarm went off falsely early in the morning long before we were planning to get up!! This place sucks!!」

「There are no glaring negatives to this property for us. The room was smaller than expected, but the bathroom was large. The staff seemed easily distracted. When we checked in the staff seemed to be in need of a big cup of coffee. When we were trying to check out the man was on his cell phone. We thought it might be a business call until he ended it with a hearty "later dude." We waited over 4 minutes for him to finish his call. Not the end of the world, but it wasn't what we expected. 「This was the second time this year that we stayed at the Essenhaus. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet! Check-in was fast and the staff here is friendly and helpful! We enjoyed the hot breakfast but wish they had granola to go along with the yogurt. We highly recommend The Essenhaus!」

「Quaint, hidden gem in Elkhart. Corner Bar, plus rooftop bar. For anyone visiting Elkhart and doesn’t want the standard chain feel, this is the place.」

「Absolutely disgusting hotel. Terrible neighborhood. They dont even have a front desk clerk...they literally outsourced it to India. You check in through a machine with an Indian dude on camera who was impossible to understand. 100% the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.」

「The room was clean and the lady at the front desk was helpful the first night. There was rarely someone at the front desk, tho. However, the room had some maintenence issues. There was tiling in the bathroom that was very sloppily repaired; there was a big patch of peeled/missing paint on the walls; the interior of the closet was missing a panel or mirror or something. There was no hair dryer. I know the power outage was not your fault, but we did not get breakfast and that was a bummer.」

「We were just traveling through and stayed here now for the second time. Nice, clean rooms, no weird smells, updated.」
