"Expect to pay an additional $200 per night for taxes and energy fee. Property is beautiful but hilly so a lot of walking although a shuttle is available. Room was adequate good bedding but bathroom in need of serious updates and shower did not work well. Food choices at night limited as they rotate restaurants and very expensive. Complimentary breakfast was nice . Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Nice private beaches. "
"I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel manages to stay in business. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this place is long overdue for a complete overhaul—starting with the room bathrooms, which were an absolute disaster. Poor water pressure, inconsistent drainage, flushing that looked like they hadn’t been updated (or properly maintained) in decades made even the simplest routines frustrating.
The rooms themselves felt stuck in another era—and not in a charming, vintage way. Everything was dated, worn, and tired, giving off the impression that upkeep is the last thing on management’s priority list. It’s one thing to have an older property, but it’s another to neglect it entirely.
What truly made the experience worse, though, was the staff. Most of the cleaning and maintenance crew were not only unprofessional but outright rude and intrusive. It felt like there was zero respect for privacy, and interactions were consistently uncomfortable. We had a flooded bathroom with a poorly draining shower and the maintenance crew asked us what we did to it vs. acknowledging that the bathroom was broken from the get go. The only exception was one older, white-haired staff member who was kind, respectful, and seemed to actually care—unfortunately, they were the lone bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant stay.
Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone to just go to another island! "
"ok so this my experience with this whole trip. Getting to the island and getting off the place on the tarmac was kind of different but followed up by the fact that it gave me 3rd world country vibes. Now to this All-Inclusive deal that was not cheap it's a like a trap to get you to come. These are the thing that they say are included that were not, Tuscany Ristorante Italiano, Entertainment, Concierge Service, Island Tours, it says 2 hot tubs and 2 pools there was only 1 of each, and the beach was pretty dirty. The staff didn't seem very helpful, and it was like I was bothering them anytime I had a question. The food really wasn't good also they said snacks and drinks are included I never seen them. I literally had to get a taxi to the store for drinks and snacks that costed $30 per person for one way than another $30 to get back. Not to mention the resort is the farthest thing away from anything 30-35mins anyway from everything. The casino was a sad place with maybe 100 slots and 2 tables plus they close at 1am. So, if you like to stay in your room and do nothing but drinking liquor these is the place for you. But if you like doing things and exploring this is not a good spot. overall, this was a disappointing trip "
"This property is not a resort. There is not a restaurant, the only amenity is a pool with broken lounge chairs. It is also in a run down area. Not safe to walk around in and is not within walking distance to downtown Christiansted. A car is required if you want to go anywhere. We had to rent a car immediately because a local said it was not safe to walk around. It was more like an apartment building with a pool. I would have never booked a stay here with four young college girls. The room had bugs as well. "
"For anyone who would consider coming to this resort. Don’t!!!!!!! It Sucks!!!!! I say again, DON’T come. It sucks…
Room is ugly. No water or cups for the coffee. No water in the fridge. The pillows sucks!!!
The only thing that was nice was the ocean view. Incredible view.
And it was only 5 minutes from the down town"
"My fiancé and I stayed 3 nights here in March and while I wouldn't call it a 5-star hotel, we had an excellent experience.
Something to consider when staying here is that it is located about 40 minutes away from the main city area (Christiansted) and the roads leading up the hotel get narrow and the cell service gets shotty. The drive is so far out that some Uber drivers decline your ride because they do not want to drive out that far. I would def let them drive instead of renting if you are from the US. -- but with that distance comes privacy and very nice mountain/beach views! So just know what you are getting!
Also, the beach access at the resort is pretty much non-existent. The waves are there, but the beach is not -- it is a shore of mostly rocks.
But the food at the restaurants was really good!! And they had someone playing live music during dinner every night. The staff (Muffs, Malcom and Luis) were great. We enjoyed meeting and conversing with them at various points during the day and at the bar. I enjoyed looking off into the beach and sunset, and the privacy of this resort compared to others on the island is noteworthy. If you want to be out of the hussle and bussle and just enjoy some quiet island time -- I would recommend Grapetree. "
