If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be overwhelming. But there's no need to panic. Follow these handy hints for a trouble-free start to your vacation in Street. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by donning layers, and wear flat, closed-toe shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
