If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a trouble-free start to your getaway in Copenhagen. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• A plane trip can be easy if you pack the right gear. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.

Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

• While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like box cutters, razor blades, fuel and fireworks. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, are also banned from the cabin.
