Wonderful stay at The Loutrel. From our welcoming cocktail to the friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and delightful rooftop terrace, I can’t think of anyplace I’d rather stay in Charleston! Location was also great with proximity to the waterfront, outdoor market, plentiful restaurants and great shopping areas!

This hotel is beautifully maintained and looks brand new. Service was great—cleaning and turndown were done every day without delay. The location is great, too—walkable to shopping, restaurants and all historic district attractions. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a fabulous stay at The Loutrel. Every encounter with the team was fantastic from the valet to the front desk to the cleaners. So helpful and friendly. Loved the complimentary water, snacks and signature cocktail of the day. Breakfast was really good too

The Loutrel is a lovely upscale intimate hotel. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. It has the perfect location, in the core of the French quarter and close to shopping, restaurants and famous sights. The breakfast was disappointing. I expected a better buffet with more choices. It is served in the lobby of the hotel and there is not enough room for all the guests.

Loved this hotel - excellent breakfast in the morning was included and served until 10or11AM? Can’t remember. I would not get a room on the Linguard St side again though. The garbage collection began early morning and lasted a long time.

This hotel was absolutely perfect! In the past I have stayed at numerous five star resorts/hotels, but The Loutrel is far above the rest. Everything was perfect: the room decor and size, the restaurant, the staff, simply everything. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay, and I hope to stay there again. I can only wish for other Loutrels in other cities.

Rooms are impersonal and bland. There are no desks. Amenities are good and free. Breakfast is pretty good but it’s served in the lobby bar. Feels very strange honestly. Location is terrific. Checkin was done standing up in the lobby. Zero privacy. Doormen don’t know how to open the door for guests though they appear to have very little else to do. Seems like the managers have spent no time in what a good guest experience should be like.

The hotel room was beautiful and clean, which is really all I can say. I stayed here after a flight to get some sleep before a hectic weekend elsewhere in Charleston. However, my room was on the second floor and directly next to an adjacent hotels linen drop off area and trash area. There were trucks making obscene noises from 5 am until 7:30 am. I called the front desk to speak with them about it at 7 am and no one got back in touch with me until 10 am. The manager gave me a later checkout (of 1 hour) as compensation, which seems … pretty ridiculous considering this hotel was pricey and I would find it incredibly hard to believe that I was the first person to complain about the noise from the room I was given. I would stay elsewhere, there’s a ton of beautiful hotels in Charleston.

The Loutrel was very nice and well appointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was just what we wanted for our stay in Charleston. I highly recommend this hotel.

Charming and Spacious
The Loutrel has a boutique hotel feel with ample space. We enjoyed a sunset on the rooftop, Super Bowl Sunday in the lobby bar, and were very comfortable in the mezzanine lounge after checkout. The complimentary water and tea bar was a pleasant surprise after strolling all day through Charleston. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect and I appreciate the Dyson hair dryer and the clothing steamer. The bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. We stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay there again.
