This is a magical place to relax. The staff are outstanding. The dining was superb. The room are very relaxing and comfortable. The pool area is a wonderful place to hangout during hot afternoons.

Fairy tale setting in Tuscany in a refurbished monastery. Very friendly staff. Easy to drive to nearby towns but definitely need a rental car. Wife got a massage and said it was the best one she ever had. Overall fantastic experience and would do it again.

The property was nice but the front desk reception staff was a bit rude. Didn’t explain any procedures to us when we arrived such as how to use the room key (not intuitive), when and how breakfast was served. Unable to get continental breakfast figured out for us after two tries (two mornings). No paper menu on the second day so we couldn’t order as we got in pretty late. Then they charged us €50 for room service because we didn’t fill out the form. What?? Spa services were a different story. They were amazing, accommodating, warm, friendly, nice, respectful. Best experience on the property bar far! Lastly, I needed a few articles of clothing to get cleaned/laundered and they said they could take care of that. It appeared that afternoon in a pretty box and the clothes smelled so fresh. However, at checkout I was appalled to find a €315 bill for clothes cleaning. Come on! No way a half load of laundry cost that much to get clean! I take full responsibility for not asking more questions on the front end, but seriously. I’ll never go back or recommend this place for a stay to a friend. Spa services were amazing! Everything else wasn’t.

Great family getaway

Everything was perfect. Someone who stood out from the rest was Felipo; he went above and beyond was very attentive to what we needed made us feel at home. The property is gorgeous.

Overall great. It was a bit colder when we went. I wish they put heat lamps in outside seating areas in the evenings. I did ask and they put one but it needed time to heat up. But other than that - amazing stay!

Great hotel mediocre service

Great stay, beautiful hotel - only thing which was suboptimal was the service, which was not to the standard of a “leading hotel of the world” - not attentive nor observant had run after things to get done etc - slightly annoying but the rest of the stay was lovely

Expected more / poor value for money.

Stay was okay but was expecting more out of this resort, felt kind of stuck there with such a lack of activities compared to some other similar places, and the management takes advantage of this with price gauging at every F&B outlet which is short-sighted and not good for the place's reputation.

No pillow top we slept on top of a wooden door 🚪

There was no pillow top in our bed ! The mattress was hard so hard like I never tried before in my life ! This is a five star hotel ( the leading hotels of the world ) we pay absurd price to stay in a luxury prestige suite ! We wanted to sleep in a proper five stars bed I have lots of problems with carp túnel síndrome and I came here looking for some more comfortable bed to feel better … wa so possible to sleep ! I have severe pain in all my both arms and back ! seems a bad joke ! this is the first time in my life ( I always stay in hotels five stars ) with no pillow top and no comfort I slept on top of a wooden door ! don’t come to this hotel ! I’m crying of pain !

El lugar se encuentra lejos y apartado de todo no te ofrecen nada de actividades y te están vigilando todo el día los horarios de los restaurantes no son flexibles y no hay nada cerca de la propiedad para salir a comer. Los de recepción te dan un horario de los restaurantes y llegas al restaurant y dicen que está cerrado. La limpieza de las habitaciones deja mucho que desear. La propiedad es muy bonita y podría estar mucho mejor y para el precio que pagas se me hace que no es una experiencia que lo valga

Das Castel liegt auf einem Hügel mit schönem Blick über die Landschaft. Die historischen Gebäude sind einzigartig und sehr gut instand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend - von der Rezeption bis zum Housekeeping! Die Zimmer sind geräumig mit sehr schönen, großen Badezimmern. Das Mobiliar ist in die Jahre gekommen und aus vielen Stilen zusammengesetzt. Die Preise für Getränke sind vollkommen überteuert (16 Euro für ein Glas Wein; 5 Euro für ein (Discount) 0,25 l Wasser). Die eigenen Cocktails sind sehr gelungen und die Lounge im Innenhof ein toller Ort für einen Drink nach dem Dinner!

Loved our stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Castel Monastero! The whole staff was delightful - so thoughtful and attentive. We were there for 4 nights, ate breakfast at the hotel every morning, spent time by the gorgeous pool, had amazing massages, and overall just loved the experience! We booked a Prestige Room and it had an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. The room, bathroom, and closet were a great size for the two of us - plenty of space! I would definitely come back here and sincerely want to thank the hotel staff for making our stay so special!

Fantastic!

We stayed one night and had an amazing time! The Contrada restaurant was fantastic and the staff was very courteous. Beautiful rooms and the pools were amazing. I would absolutely recommend visiting.
