"I just stayed here because of the pool which is of a length suitable for lap swimming. Otherwise the rooms are average - should have a tea kettle or coffee maker at least.
The location is great, a nice bairro, mostly residential but with lots of barzinhos and restaurants and markets close by. It is also convenient for the Metrô."

"The property is quirky, the staff are excellent, the dining is good.
There are some old-fashioned touches - washing lines in the bathroom - and in places there is a clear need for refurbishment, but it's a comfortable place to stay. And the swimming pool is excellent.
I realise from other reviews that one must book a superior room in order to have bottled water and tea-making facilities in the room, but in my view this should be available in all rooms as standard."

"I enjoyed my stay at Melia Paulista! And would maybe stay again.
Location is excellent, at the heart of Avenida Paulista, close to many shops, restaurants, and galleries. I valued this a lot.
The room was a good size, and bathroom decent size too. It had everything I needed, and I was impressed that breakfast was included as well.
Service was always friendly, though early check-in required an additional charge. For many flights arriving in the morning, this adds cost.
A major downside for me was that the in-room fridge is on some kind of wooden stand that sticks out, and I hit my foot on it, causing a lot of blood. The stand isn’t really necessary and now I have had to wrap up the injury for a week.
So it’s a good hotel, just be careful!"
