「We began our stay in Ischia recuperating from the trip at Samiramis. We moved Albergo Macri as a home base for day trips around Ischia and to Naples, Pozzuoli and the Amalfi Coast. We were very conveniently located to take ferries and buses for those day trips. There is an excellent restaurant just down the block, and many more around the port and further into Ischia Porto. The owners were very hospitable. Excellent value. 」

It has so many places to eat and shop that you don't need a car unless you want to explore other parts of island. 「One of the worst experience we have in a hotel. Furniture is rather old, the shower stall is small and its base leaks water. We had floods after our showers. We noticed small insects on our first night and thought that was isolated incidents. The second day we found the "headquarter" of the ants under the table. It is not a decent hotel at all, it is a only a "so so" hostel. 」
