The grounds and building are in desperate need of updating. There was a lingering smell of mildew in the air in the floors where the rooms are. Scented misters were used to attempt to mask the odor. However, with such high humidity and the use of carpet in the hallways, it was clear that this was a problem of design; no one seemed to have thought that decision through. The food throughout was lackluster and terribly unseasoned. A notable highlight, however, was the selection of fruit and desserts. Those were amongst the better food items that we enjoyed during our stay.
Furthermore, our room was not stocked with washcloths. When we asked for some, we were given what appeared to be small cloths from the spa area, not actual washcloths. Thankfully, much of the staff were friendly and obliging.
SN: if your flight arrives earlier than the posted check-in time, there’s a very strong chance that your room will not be ready. You should expect to wait, during which time you are able to use the common facilities and enjoy the restaurants that are open.
