"Hotel Barcelo was a great stay. My wife and I have stayed there a few times over the years. The location is good if you want to stay close to the San Jose but not in it. The cleanliness is very good and the service is great. As far as price goes, it’s inexpensive. We highly recommend this hotel. "

"La Mariposa was a highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful, and the view is absolutely incredible. Waking up to floor to ceiling windows and an ocean and national park view never got old. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean was a favorite spot. We even saw monkeys on the property. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and the staff were so lovely and accommodating throughout our stay. The property’s location is ideal, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The beach is about a 25 minute downhill walk and there’s also a property shuttle to the beach if you don’t feel like walking. We are absolute looking forward to staying here again. "

We were is a difficult situation as my son suffered severe injuries while on vacation in Costa rica and was at CIMA hospital. The staff were truly amazing. They made a very stressful and painful time a bit easier with their concern, care and kindness. T"
