"I mean, it’s Bakersfield. Lots of cool things in Bakersfield, but it’s not a city known for being a tourist Mecca. The hotel, though, has a really Interesting history and if you are heading through it’s a kind of different place to stay, way better than a typical cookie cutter chain. More like a big city old school vibe. Good bar. Food was excellent. "

"The hotel itself is pretty nice. The food is terrible. Most of the stuff was great except for the one gentleman that works in the daytime and checks people in was rude not just at check-in, but he was rude. When we asked about early check-in. He was rude. When I asked for a receipt he refused to give me a receipt to take home with me saying that because I booked online he couldn’t print me one out which I’ve had other hotels print me off receipts, and I booked through Hotels.com all the time I thought that was very unprofessional of him, and I will not be booking that hotel in the future because of that one employees demeanor, and how he treats people I also will not be referring my friends to that hotel either and because I chose to stay at this hotel, this time two other people booked rooms at the same time because we stayed there together and next time we will be staying in another hotel."

"My room wasn’t ready when I arrived and check in time. I was told that the hotel will prioritize others who book directly with the hotel. I felt the staff treated me very poorly compared to my other friends that also booked rooms. Almost to the point at being racist towards me as I am Mexican and my friends were white. "

"I absolutely loved my stay at Motel 6 Bakersfield Convention Center. The location is surprisingly peaceful, with barely any traffic, which made for an incredibly restful night—I slept like a bear. One of the biggest perks is the huge selection of dining options nearby, including one of the nicest Starbucks I’ve ever seen right across the street. Super convenient. The internet was fast and reliable, which is always a big deal for me. The staff was amazing as well—after 1am, I went downstairs looking for a vending machine, and a very kind staff member was right there to help me. Bonus points for having energy drinks available—I was thrilled. Five stars across the board. This will definitely be my go-to spot every time I’m traveling between Los Angeles and Sacramento. "
