A nice spacious apartment with on suite bathroom and laundry which was very convenient. Full kitchen nice lounge open plan with lovely decks on 2 sides. The swimming pool was very nice and it was tepid temperature. It was a short walk to a beautiful white beach about 70 metres through bush and trees. Parking was excellent and the check in and out was quick and easy. The only thing was there were no lifts and we were on the top floor It was not a problem for us, but people with mobility issues should ask for a ground floor apartment. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to other travelers

Right on the beach behind the paperbark trees

Lovely location, right on the beach behind the paperbark trees. Ocean breezes. No Aircon, only ceiling fan, which was adequate considering you have ocean breezes & the Concrete building itself provides good insulation. This Hotel is Older, it is Clean & Tidy, functional/ self contained, microwave, bar fridge, electric stove etc, staff were really helpful & nice. There’s a cafe onsite (Sisco’s), which served a fantastic breakfast & a generous serving size too. For the age of the building & being on a sand island on the beach, where most people like to come camping, it was good, I would stay here again... If you are looking for 5 plus star luxury this is not for you (Apart from the location)

Flooring was raw concrete, carpet had been removed through out but concrete flooring was stained and unpleasant. The management called it the industrial look but the floor was not polished or clean. The ceiling leaked when it rained and water ran from bathroom to the bedroom. There was no soap at all and only one very small sachet of shampoo. The sliding living room shutters came off their tracks .The key did not open the beach access gate. TV was limited to local channels.

In need of immediate refurbishment.

The 2bedroom apartment was on the highest floor of a dark stairwell. Upon entering, we found out they forgot to provide towels, the balcony door hinges were all rusty, worst of all, the toilet bowl had faeces not fully cleared. Awful start to our holiday at Straddie island and wife was pretty distraught regarding the whole situation. We called hotels.com the same evening. After getting confirmation that we will be refunded the next 2 nights stay, we quickly found alternative accommodation, and checked out the next morning. Subsequently, Hotels.com.com informed us that that Anchorage insisted there is a minimum 3nights stay and refused to refund the last 2 nights. So pls avoid this like the plague... honestly, the management cannot charge the current rates for such a tired apartment. Positives: location is near the beach but so are many other hotels.... This is the first time i have ever had to move out of a holiday accommodation... i hope it will be the last time.
