We checked in (2 hours early), but when we got to our room it was totally unmade. The supervisor or manager got right after it, and immediately found us another room, apologized profusely, then offered us anything we needed in the lobby for nothing! It was an honest mistake and we were 2 hours before stated check-in, but she still went above and beyond.
The rooms in this hotel have a partial kitchen, but when we looked for a knife to cut a line, we found there we no cooking or eating materials. I went down to the breakfast area to find a plastic knife and there were none, but I did find a table knife for sale in the lobby along with other cooking and eating materials for sale. I took advantage of the supervisors earlier offer about anything we needed for free, and picked up the $1.50 knife for nothing. It would be helpful to understand beforehand that the kitchen is not equipped. Seems odd to offer a kitchen with no cooking or eating materials.
I also learned there is no breakfast provided, but that was a miss on my part.
The hotel is in short walking distance to the Ford Center (just across the parking lot), and that was so convenient. If I go to another event at the Ford Center, I’d likely stay in this hotel again, but would come prepared.
