"The hotel is very impressive as soon as you walk in. To be such an old historic building, it has been well taken care of! Our room was large, and the air-conditioning was wonderful for the Galveston humidity. My wife got cold and made me turn the thermostat up. The upstairs bar gives a great view of the harbor and is very nice and modern. Drink and food were great. Parking attendants were very polite and fast when we checked out. The price is a little steeper than our normal stays, but if you want to be close to the pier and downtown, it's a great location. Just one block from all the shops and stores. Would stay again."
