"Wonderful location right on beach with awesome views of Table Mountain, Robben Island, and the Atlantic Ocean - get a seaside view room if possible. Rooms were clean but could use some touchup, wall air conditioners (we kept the 2 sliding glass doors open to cool down the room - it can get very windy since you are on the ocean. Outstanding staff behind the front desk, the room cleaning staff, and the restaurant staff - also, purchase the buffet breakfast as part of your total coast - it’s so good!
While our queen sized bed sagged in the middle, I’m confident that the staff will replace it.
The hotel is 12 km from the City Center and the V&A Waterfront, in Bloubergstrand, an area that is really growing. Plenty of restaurants, free parking, uncrowded beach - though in summer there are lots of paragliders on beach & n the water - lessons are available onsite if needed. If you are ok with driving, go ahead & rent a car at the Airport (roughly a 20 minute drive). The traffic is awful during rush hour, so avoid am & pm rush hours! Recommend take guided tours if possible - many can pick you up at the hotel. Dolphin Beach Hotel also has a truly awesome van driver in Rafi - what a super guy, and makes himself available if you need to get somewhere.
