"We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Austin South Congress for a family vacation and overall had a good experience. The hotel’s location was convenient and made it easy to explore Austin and nearby attractions. The staff provided good service throughout our stay and were friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance. One of the highlights was the complimentary breakfast each morning, which offered a nice variety of options and was a great way to start the day. However, the hotel is definitely showing its age and is in need of significant updates. The guest rooms feel dated, and the furnishings and overall appearance could benefit from renovation. Another downside was the parking fee, which we felt was excessively high and added a substantial extra cost to our stay. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our time in Austin and had a wonderful family vacation. With room renovations and more reasonable parking rates, this hotel would be a much stronger value."

"This had to be the worst hotel/motel I had ever stayed at. We had a pipe burst in our home and needed somewhere to stay for a couple of days. The outside of the building just looks sad, it hasn't been maintained. The front desk staff was wonderful! The room was not. The floors were sticky, it was clear that nothing had been cleaned. The tables had some kind of substance on them and the mirrors both had not been cleaned. I had two rooms, one for me and one for my adult children. Their room reeked of cigarette smoke. In most if not all hotels with kitchens there is some kind of kitchen utensils, this place had NOTHING. Not even paper towels. I had brought some leftover dinner thinking I would heat it up in the microwave, that would have been fine except there was nothing to heat it on, let alone a utensil to eat it with. I reserved two rooms for two nights, we left after the first night it was so awful. On the way out my son noticed that there was a sign that said you could buy kitchen items. He also noticed that there was nothing in the lobby that you could get to drink. Not even a vending machine. No water, sodas, or coffee. Of and the breakfast is nutragrain bars and coffee for a few hours. It would have been nice if their web page said there are no kitchen utensils or drinks onsite. If you wanted clean sheets or towels you had to bring your current ones to the front desk to swap out. If you want your room cleaned it's extra money."
