This was my second stay here. The first was much better than this one. Last year, they didn't charge me for parking because I had been a guest at the hotel. This year, they charged me $8/day. I wouldn't have minded, and I understand it's reasonable, but it was just unexpected.
I was on the 5th floor, which reeked of skunkweed. Also, that evening, when I went to the vending machines, I slipped on some water leaking from the ice machine. I could have gotten badly hurt.
Also, my vending selection failed to fall out, so I had to put two more dollars in so the product behind the one I purchased would force my selection to fall out. So, $4 for the candy bar I wanted. :(
The ladies at the front desk just seemed stressed and unfriendly. The coffee wasn't to my liking, but I admit I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Thankfully, there's a Starbucks nearby!
My room was comfortable, but they failed to remove the trash from the previous occupant, which kind of grossed me out. It was just a big ball of someone's hair from the cleaning of a hairbrush.
Wingate sounds like it's going to be upscale, but it was definitely more run-of-the-mill. The stink from the smoking of marijuana was the worst part. There are no smoking signs and threats of hefty fees, but it doesn't seem enforced.
