"My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites. Though clearly an older hotel, has been extremely well maintained. Stepping into the lobby with its wood paneling and chandeliers is a bit like traveling back in time to the mid 1900's. It is conveniently located across the street from the Halifax Public Gardens and within walking distance of the Halifax Citadel. There is a surprisingly vast number of nearby restaurants to choose from. There is a parking garage attached to the building though it's a bit of a maze to figure out how to get from the parking garage to the lobby. Also be careful in the garage when opening up the back door of an SUV (especially if it swings above the height of the car). Some of the parking spots have low hanging pipes for the fire sprinkler system which I managed to bang the back door of my car against. Still, we would not hesitate to stay again in the future."
