"Im more upset with Expedia for this experience. This hotel was listed as Carcasonne and we should have done a little more homework but we were strapped for time. This hotel is located nowhere near where we wanted to be (the heart of Carcasonne). It was a $40cdn uber and when we decided to eat the cost of the hotel and go somewhere closer the ubers were not coming out that far. The hotel itself is fine but has a very cold almost robotic feel. "Great welcome from Sandra and Fred who gave us access to property 2.5 hours before check in time. They were friendly , helpful and generous throughout our stay. (Do try The food especially Fred’s signature apple cake.) Apartment comfortable and great for a few days rest half way through out our around France. The 48 steps to the flat plus 18 to the bedrooms will keep you fit! Enjoyed Carcassone and La Cite. A great stay!"

"The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location.The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"Excellent hôtel excellente adresse nous y reviendrons sûrement tout était propre on a été accueilli très très bien dès notre arrivée c'est tellement rare maintenant d'être bien reçu qu'il faut le préciser la chambre est propre le hall et le restaurant aussi on a bien mangé rien à redire 10 sur 10"

"La Bonne Planque is totally unique. Staying here was one of the best experiences we have had on our Europe trip. The setting right on the canal was beautiful and the perfect stop for cyclists on the Canal du Midi. Our host made us feel so welcome. We had delicious local food and wine for our evening meal and a lovely breakfast."

"Great pool, nice big unit for the five of us, and great end unit overlooking a field. Didn't feel that clean, however, an it was a little buggy (ants obviously, might have seen a mouse dropping under the sink, not 100% sure there weren't bedbugs or fleas or something else) but some of that can be due to being surrounded by nature as it was. As I said, the pool area was great, and the snack bar was a definite plus. Good location for exploring Carcassonne."
