disapointing! can not trust the reservation
Service very friendly. No coffee in room. Did not get the room I reserved. Got a room with no balcony or view and was stuffy. Can not trust that they will give you the room you sererve and pay for. I reserved a room with a balcony facing the street and got oneI could not open the one window because could be seen from front desk.

The architecture is just breathtaking, you feel as if you were living in a palace in the XVI century (which actually is). The building was built for the daughter of Don Pedro de Alvarado, Guatemala’s conquistador and founder of Antigua Guatemala. As such, there might be a couple of amenities in modern hotels that this one is lacking, but overall this is an experience to be lived. Since the balconies face a busy, central street, the doors seal completely and it might get too hot or too cold at night. But the beds and pillows are uber comfortable. Bathroom is small with more than enough towels and toiletries and good water pressure. The staff is very accommodating and nice. They do have a topnotch bar and the Moscow Mules should be tried. They don’t have their own parking lot, so if you’re driving it might be a bit of a hassle to find a parking lot close by, I’d advice to coordinate in advance with the hotel. Make sure to take pictures of the garden as well. Beautiful!

Oasis in Antigua.
Fabulous historic oasis in center of Antigua. The courtyard is a treasure , the rooms lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.

X mas vacation
Amazing place and the hotel to visit. We loved it so much and plan to go back next year. One minor thing is that the room is not equipped with a coffee maker nor a refreezerator.

Incredible location, within a few minutes of everything. Mostly friendly staff, indifferent service at the restaurant. What I really didn't like was the bed, hard as a rock! At least a soft topper if not a mattress change altogether is required.

This is one of the few historic colonial homes that remains intact. Most the other ones are cut up into hostels and cheap restaurants. Stepping into the palacio is like stepping back into the 16th century. It has one of Antigua’s most beautiful gardens. The hallways are grand and well decorated with antiques and comfortable sofas. I stayed in the largest room in the hotel, the King Suite. It was a room fit for a king. Huge king sized canopy bed, beautiful sitting area, large wood burning fireplace (with lots of firewood) and two massive windows which opened onto the street below and offered incredible views of all the volcanoes. The restaurant service was excellent as was the food. I highly recommend this hotel. It is definitely worth every penny.

Gorgeous centrally-located hotel
This hotel is beautiful and I can't think of a better location in Antigua. Everything in the hotel is very historic and the inner courtyard is beautiful. I was in a room with 2 twin beds even though I booked a room with a king. The front desk offered to move me to one of the available King rooms but they actually weren't as nice so I stayed in the one they gave me. The wifi is a bit weak in the rooms on the 2nd floor but still functional.

Gorgeous historic oasis in Antigua
We loved everything about this hotel, from the location a block from the plaza and the history of the converted Spanish colonial mansion to the serene courtyard, excellent service and portraits hanging in the rooms. Having walked around Antigua and poked our heads into a number of hotels, I have to think Palacio de Doña Leonor is wildly underrated, as I didn't see anywhere I'd rather have stayed. Although we're consummate explorers, we chose to stay in the hotel for drinks several times just to enjoy the space.

We recieved a room with two beds after reserving one king sized... we were moved to a king sized bedroom without a window and with air condition. They said they didn't have any other room available but upon checking in hotels.com there were 3 more rooms available... the lady just didn't care to do the change and blamed the system. We received free breakfast for the inconvenience. The morning after we had the noise of breakfast right out our door...see pic. Very loud! We couldn't sleep in!

Best Luxurious Boutique Hotel
This is definitely one of the top hotels in Antigua. Very close to the central plaza. Very convenient location, lots of restaurants around plus this it is a historic old house, everything about it is just gorgeous. Staff is super friendly, we got there early morning and our room (Sin Ventura) was ready short after. Every room is different and I wish I can go back just to try all the rooms haha. If you are looking for the Antigua Experience Palacio de Doña Leonor is in my opinion the best choice.

What a jewel!!
As soon as I walked into the hotel courtyard, I was in awe!! My whole body just relaxed and I felt like I was at home. What a happy feeling you have as soon as you walk in. Daisy, the resident Cocker Spaniel is a sweet greeter!! The staff is lovely and the food amazing. The room beautiful and I could not have found a better place to stay, It was bit noisy and if you are a light sleeper, have some earplugs. You are in the center of town and the noise is that of a small town that is always celebrating. I love the energy!! Shopping and restaurants are right outside the front door!!

Truly a Palacio
Everything was just wonderful! First we were struck by the beautiful room...truly spectacular. Then, the comfort and cleanliness. Then the warm and friendly people who served us. The ladies were sweet and efficient, the check-in was friendly and welcoming and Osvaldo was the best waiter ever!!!

Palacio de Dona Leonor is a beautiful hotel, right in the heart of Antigua and literally only a few metres from the main 'Parque Central'. It is beautifully decorated with local art, and it has a lovely lush green tropical courtyard garden. Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. We only had breakfast there once, which was very good. Cocktails were delicious, but beware that the nuts that come with it are not free. The bedrooms were spacious and roomy, with a free standing ac fan, shower was adequately strong, l'occitaine toiletries, hair dryer and free bottled water. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice but there were none. I recommend this hotel very much for couples and families.

Old World Charm Right Near the Plaza Principal
This is a very charming hotel with lots of atmosphere. It has a grassy courtyard with sculpted shrubbery and fountain that is one of the most beautiful I have seen anywhere. Some of the rooms border on the opulent. Mine looked like a bordello with red satin bedspread and red walls. Each room is unique. The location is unbeatable but it can be noisy, particularly the rooms facing the street. The rooms opposite the reception receive noise from the bars nearby. On week-days it quiets down by 10:30p.m. but I imagine that weekends are pretty noisy.

The hotel is wonderful - with one exception
The hotel is lovely. Room was everything we expected, had a wonderful stay. Service was superior, and the hotel is a quiet oasis is a rather bustling, noisy area. However, the end of our stay was badly marred by a homophobic comment clearly overheard made by one of the staff as we were leaving the hotel.

Gorgeous, at an excelent price.
Location was perfect- a block and a half from the center of town. Room was gorgeous and clean, bathroom was huge. The hotel is amazing looking- beautiful courtyard and the decor and furniture was very well put together, but also was comfortable. Something like this in the States would cost more than I can afford. The woman on the front desk during the day spoke excellent English, the one on the overnight shift spoke enough, but we both had to be patient! We didn't eat at the hotel, but did have a very nice cocktail in the bar, and tea on the second level of the courtyard one morning. Only a few minor issues: The shower door swung inward, so you had to do that awkward sidle around it to get it closed. They close the front door at night. A firm knock got it opened quickly, but coming back form dinner to find the hotel locked was an unpleasant moment- I wish they'd told us. The wi-fi didn't work in the room. However, it worked on the courtyard balcony which had huge comfy sofas, and in the bar, which we always had to ourselves (small boutique hotel.) My sister and I would stay here again.

Elegant Hotel in an Charming City
We stayed here for five nights in January and we loved the hotel very much, The room was spacious, well decorated with anitques and the beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillows. The bathroom was beautiful, the only hiccup was with the hot water on the first two days but they were very sweet and fixed it. If you want a quiet night, get a room on the sides or rear as the front ones, though magnificent, are a bit noisy due to the cobblestones in the street below. The location couldn't have been better, just half a block from the main square. The staff went out of their way to be charming and the giggling housemaids, in their little black uniforms with the white aprons were a delight ---even teaching us a bit of Spanish1 An absolutely wonderful hotel in a perfect location, we'll be back.

Excellent location by the central park
Clean room, excellent room service, incredible breakfasts and great cappuccinos. The park is just up the street and there are several wonderful shops on the street. My only complaint is that my friend and I came back to the hotel around 10pm a few nights and it took 5 to 7 minutes to get anyone to open the door for us. Just a side note: Beware of the SobreMesa restaurant a few doors down from the hotel: quaint little place but the owner is a little abrasive and a bit of a womanizer.

This beautiful hotel was just half a block off Antigua's main square, so ideally located for pretty much everything. The hotel itself is gorgeous, especially the garden courtyard. Breakfast was delicious. Two small complaints: 1) the wifi did not work very well in my room (just in the public areas) 2) there was no employee at the front desk after 11pm
