The room is nice , I love the ambiance. However there were bed bugs and we left with marks on our skin. I was asked about my stay, and told the guy at the reception that there were bed bugs. He didn’t apologise and only said thank you staying. The location is very loud too as there are clubs downstairs.

If you can't climb stairs and big steps, this isn't for you. It's a great looking suite. The bed was comfortable and the shower is large (don't know why they are obsessed with clear bathrooms though). Make sure you have the lights on overnight for the steps in the suite because you could easily forget about them. Surprisingly quiet considering the hustle & bustle outside where everyone gathers to eat/drink. Perfect distance for a smoke on the walk to the train station and it feels safe at night. It's a small 2 stop train journey from Amsterdam central. Has a few shops to get your groceries, fast food, Primark etc. Have stayed in the Monument previously and really likes the hotel then. The suites are a step up.

Love staying here every year when we visit. A few things have been changed “updated” since our last visit. While I understand them I think it was perfect before the changes. Still about to book our trip for next year! Location is great, everyone is friendly.

Great hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The only major feedback I would like to give is that the name of the hotel is not on the building and was very hard to find unless you know they’ll just change names..
