Unfortunate

Apart from coffee, no breakfast was available during scheduled hours. Room was not clean, furniture was broken, 2 holes in our bathroom door ... but the bed was comfortable, and our floor was quiet. Not on our list for a repeat visit.

The table tops were sticky. But the bed was comfortable. Slept in my clothes because i wasn't sure of the cleanliness.

No running water for several house when I arrived. Room smelt and was obviously not cleaned. Rude staff who had zero empathy. How on earth this place is still in business (and available to book on Expedia etc) is beyond me. Do yourself a favor, pay a little more and stay in a reputable ,safe, clean establishment. Never again!

Not recommended

This was not a good property. Very run down and lots of people just hanging around. Didn't feel particularly safe. The front desk person was not friendly, and the front desk area was cluttered and shabby. A stroke of good fortune, I suppose, is that they "overbooked" and I was turned away. My son and I wound up spending a lot more money than I hoped, but went to a decent place. I would not recommend this hotel.

Upon looking over the room. Mattress was clean and protected as were the sheets. Only issue had was safety. Window was not able to be locked and there was no screen. Could reach out and touch the dirt on the ground. Bedroom door, dead bolt didn’t latch, and swing arm latch was missing screws. Front desk worker refunded my money no questions asked.

We chose this location based on the location and we knew it was an older building so we did not expect the latest and greatest. We were happily surprised by the excellent quality and comfort of the bed. Overall we were happy with the location and staff during our check in. We "bumped into a facilities/maintenance worker who also very nice and polite. We did have a bad experience at check out, the front desk worker was asleep and we could not wake him. There was no free breakfast (it was advertised) probably because he was sound asleep and didn't set it up. Unfortunately we had a tight schedule so we left our key cards at the desk and bought breakfast after we left. If we could attach a photo of the sleeping employee we would.

Okay hotel overall. Definitely not very clean. Most of the hallways smelled like weed and the rooms did too. Also not very safe feeling either. There is an elevator that anyone from outside can get right into the hotel. Some of the sheets in our room had black marks/stains on them. It didnt feel very clean. The AC unit worked, but was very inconsistent and I was hot most of the night. Overall wasn't the worst experience, but definitely at your own risk.

Bed was actually kinda comfy(only reason for 2 stars) , the "comforter" has cigarette holes in it and tears, was super thin like a curtain. Sheets seemed clean tho so i just used my own blanket half the light bulbs were burnt out and one of the lamps was broken weird. holes in the wall, roaches, smelled weird, no breakfast like advertised. No towels, just 2 floor mats and a face cloth. Carpet was gross and was peeling near the walls. There was popcorn and crud under/behind the bed and no headboard.bathtub and shower curtain were stained, yellow and weird.This seems like an emergency only kinda place.

Very fair price.

Disconcerted initially to see a possibly mentally disturbed woman who was very vulgar and loud (and panhandling) in the lobby and on the steps upon check in. The staff had to had to be rather forceful in tone with her. I wondered if there homeless people were being sheltered there. Not a further problem but the smokers often were difficult to get past in the entrance steps. Wheeled ramp was rather far away to get to lobby from. The rest of the hotel was quite peaceful and the staff mostly friendly and helpful. Excellent espresso coffee machine in the lobby! I am not a fan of hotel continental breakfasts and do not like the cost of them as part of the room fee and was very glad this hotel did not do so but the free coffee available was incredibly good! Better even than some offered in the four star hotels I have stayed in!

I Would Not Stay at This Super 8

I would not recommend staying here. I flew into Allentown, PA just for the night and thought the pictures looked decent for the price and quick stopover. The attendant at the front desk was very friendly, and that is where the positives more or less stop. The room, as well as the lobby and halls, smelled strongly of cigarettes, even though I checked to make sure it was a non-smoking room. There were burn marks on parts of the bed, as well as all over the tub. I found insect parts in the bed sheets and under the mattress. The walls and towel racks were really beat up and damaged. I felt so uncomfortable that I ate the cost of the room, left and got another room north by the airport. I definitely suggest spending anther $25 or $50 to feel comfortable and avoid this Super 9.
