Butrint, a Unesco World Heritage site.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, Butrint has been the site of a Greek colony (800 BC), a Roman city (44 BC) and a bishopric (5th centrury). Following a period of prosperity under Byzantine administration, then a brief occupation by the Venetians, the city was abandoned in the late Middle Ages after marshes formed in the area. The archaeological site is a repository of ruins representing each period in the city’s development and that entity is unique. Moreover the ruines are situated in a beautiful natural setting.
The photo shows the famous baptistery, a major ruin from the 6th century and an ancient Roman monument adapted to the cultural needs of Christianity. Its floor has a an exceptional and well-preserved mosaic pavement, but usually it’s covered with sand (for protection). #Culture #LocalSecrets #History

「A fantastic hotel in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains. Convenient location for exploring Vlore, Orikum and Dhermi. Very clean and comfortable with a great bed, linens, pillows. Wonderful outdoor swimming pool, large and deep with plenty of comfy sun loungers. Nice little gym and the much appreciated sauna, steam room and indoor plung pool. 「Me and my partner had a lovely stay at the hotel. The apartment room we had was absolutely massive with a huge balcony connecting the dining space and bedroom area. Both rooms had smart new LG Tvs in them compatible with apps like Netflix and Disney plus and the hotel in general was very new and clean.
