Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam

8/10 Good

"Overall it’s an excellent hotel. The bed is very comfortable (soft)—top 95%. The shower is good and there is a nespresso machine. The sauna and steam room are a nice bonus and the fitness center is decent for a hotel. Only 2 complaints. On one night I heard club music until 4am…they have dance parties at the property according to a poster I saw in the elevator so I’m guessing that was the source. Finally, they make. Everyone wait until check in time to check in. They say the room is not ready but the lobby is full of people waiting and housekeeping some how supposedly had 20-30 rooms all available at once at 3pm. There is a mass rush and long line to get the key. If they would just give people rooms as they became available, it would feel less like cattle. But I think they are trying to boost bar sales in the lobby."

Rho Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is slightly dated, but it’s clean and only about 10 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal station. The staff are friendly and approachable. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of selections. I had actually recommended one of my friends who will be traveling to Amsterdam in November to stay at this hotel."

Dikker & Thijs Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Wonderful stay! Very helpful staff, especially Ms. Jose at the front desk, just very helpful and kind. The breakfast is amazing. Everything is so fresh and the coffee is the best one I had during my trip. I stayed at the small double room with river view. It was really enough for what we needed but there is no space on the sides of the bed to put a nightstand, just a narrow space to get up and walk, but it was not a big deal. The location is amazing, you can walk everywhere and if not you have the tram stopping 1 minute from the hotel. Also, you can't feel any street noise in the rooms, the soundproofing is excellent."

Ruby Emma Hotel Amsterdam By IHG

8/10 Good

"The property has some issues which are we were told IHG policy. For example there is no way to communicate with the front desk as there is no phone in the room. Therefore in case of emergency ' one could get ill ' and have no way to communicate. When we asked the question in this regard the person on duty stated if you get sick there is nothing to be done. This is Company policy. RIDIULOUS ! Another example we needed some additional towels. The only way to get these I had to take the elevator to the lobby and ask. This is true for any request. Most of the staff was very helpful, however as an example: We stayed for 6 nights. One day we arrived back at the hotel at 3:00 PM to find the room had not been cleaned. I went to the down from the 10th floor to ask for cleaning. The person on duty stated ' we have many persons checking in today so we prepare these rooms before guests' rooms. You will have to wait. No compassion ! Not even a response such as ' let me see what we can do to expedite your request."
