"The Royal Sonesta Hotel is an elegant hotel in downtown Portland the staff was so friendly and helpful. Absolutely a wonderful experience! The room had high ceilings and beautiful furnishing and wallpaper and huge gorgeous bathroom! The bed was really comfortable and the room had huge windows looking out to the trees! The woodwork was amazing. We asked for a refrigerator and Howard brought it up within 5 minutes and was so friendly! Slept peacefully in the quiet room located right in the center...

"I love historic older buildings! The suite we paid for was more spacious than the photos showed. There were a few things about the cleanliness of the room like there was toothpaste on the wall and mirror from previous guests and also what looked like rubber glue. Also previous guests left sticky pancake syrup on one of the chairs when I sat down. Warm water got it right out of the chair with no staining but my pants were an issue. The towels in the room and the pool had a funky odor and the pool...

"We had a lovely stay at this downtown hotel. The property is tastefully decorated. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. All staff we encountered were courteous and professional. "

"The only thing I did not like about this property was the exorbitant daily fee that was charged for parking. We could’ve almost stayed another night at the hotel for what they charge. If you do not have to park a vehicle the place is great."

"We were on the second floor street side and garbage pickup for the city took place at 5:30am. I am very hard of hearing and the noise woke me up and continued for some time. Not good. The modernization of this hotel was done well, there are some deficiencies but the rate was excellent value for a full service downtown hotel."
