"We expected Rukmapur Park to be a quiet, get-away-from-it-all experience in the peaceful serenity of Vedic City. However, our experience was the opposite. The place was cute and clean and wonderfully "in the middle of nowhere," but we left the next morning frustrated and exhausted. At 3 am we woke up to someone either sliding a door open and closed or rolling a cart down the hallway above us. There was a very loud repetitive sound that went on and on. Just outside of Fairfield Iowa is the Vedic village. Apparently the large domes are full of people chanting all day long, one dome for men, and the other for women. Interesting little detour when driving through southeastern Iowa.
