"This quirky Victorian style property is a great place to stay. As a solo traveller I felt safe & staff were attentive. The continental breakfast was good with a wide selection of self service items on offer. You do need to be aware that the trains ‘toot’ as they go past and some are quite long but the hotel does supply ear plugs & using them I wasn’t bothered by the noise. All in all more of an old fashioned, individual stay rather than a corporate experience. I loved it! "

They are still working on completing the renovations which was good for us because we got to go thru all the rooms & see all the furnishings. When we arrived Expedia hadn't notified staff (Dave & Pete) that we were coming but we had made reservations within an hour-ish before. So, our room hadn't been cleaned.
