"This is a been there done that experience. The trains passing by was the most interesting part of this stay. It was the best part, but it was also the worst part. 30 to 40 trains go by (at least once an hour), 24 hours a day. During the day it was fun watching the trains, they pass by the hotel as far away as the 2 lane road. It is loud! The engines were load, the wheels squeaked &squealed. "I have stayed in this hotel for decades. It is absolutely beautiful old school always clean excellent shower lots of food and stores nearby state Police Department directly across the street so it’s completely safe and while you’re staying there, don’t forget to visit East River Mountain the scenic overlook it’s the most beautiful place on earth and where my parents fell in love in 1940 enjoy beautiful West Virginia and the turnpike hotel even greater value with the hotels.com discount"
