Good for airport but not a special Zurich experien

If you need to stay near the airport, this hotel works fine. If you want to experience Zurich, it is a good 20 minute ride downtown. There are trains available, but its a bit of a hassle.

Hilton Zurich Airport Hotel is well located for public transport. Around 5 minutes walk to the bus stop and 8 minutes to the Train/Tram stop. It would be possible to walk from the Airport (20 minutes) but they provide a Hilton shuttle bus from Terminal 1, at 5 CHF per person. The Hotel rooms are a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very good, with an amazing selection to choose from. All in all a great place to stay 😊

Didn’t give tea bag for 3 days as the bar staff didn’t want to go get some so had to go reception to ask why no tea bags for 3 days. Lady was nice enough to go find some for me. All my dad wanted was tea. Bar staff guy was rude to my niece when she asked him the second time and he rolled his eyes at her so RUDE! My sink wasn’t cleaned properly as the left a long hair in there and on a towel! Hallway at night was pitch black, had to use phone torch to get to my room! Asked for a 3rd bed in one of the rooms but obviously wasn’t there. It’s a ok hotel near enough to the airport and motorways. But very far from all the tourist attractions. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall 2.5 out of 5

I prefer the Hilton mainly because of the surroundings and beautiful location, bordering nature with hiking trails and still close to the airport. There is always enough parking (but only outside). Dogs are welcome, although for the 40 francs extra charge they could offer something extra (water bowl in the room, treats, dog blanket... whatever).

Since my flight is in the morning, I decided to book a room here in hope that it will be convenient for us to get up in the morning and go. However, its location is very inconvenient. First, it is not close enough to walk to any of the bus station or the airport if you have multiple luggages. Second of all, the shuttle bus will charge you 5 CHF per person per ride. I have never been asked to pay for a shuttle bus to the airport when I booked a hotel specifically because it is very close to the airport. Lastly, 1 of the driver seems to hate his job for the 2 times that I saw him. He also spoke very little English while most of the customers using this service are international travelers that do not speak German (Almost everyone that I talked to during this trip can speak fluent English and you cannot find someone who can speak good enough English and a good attitude?). The shuttle bus can only take about 11 people at a time and there is no system to show who came first when more than 11 people are waiting. So the driver just picked the groups that can fit first. This means you are at the mercy of the driver if you are trying to catch a flight. I really like my trip to Switzerland and I enjoyed touring Zurich. However, I will just stay at a hotel that is close to Zurich HB (main train station) next time. It is close to the attractions and there is a train to the airport that takes 15 minutes every 6 minutes in the morning. So much more convenient this way.

Fine rooms, rude and arrogant staff in the lobby. Breakfast was good. Expensive shuttle to the airport.
