"Location is excellent, walking distance to APM Shopping Mall and Forbidden City as well. Room is big and clean although it is a bit old but still very good."
"**5-Star Review - Better service than my stay at St. Regis**
I must say it was one of the best experiences I've had in my extensive travels across over 40 countries. The warm and personal service I encountered here is truly unmatched.
I've stayed at high-end hotels like the St. Regis, famed for its butler service, but the staff here surpassed my expectations. The speed and quality of their responses were phenomenal! A special shoutout to the two ladies who assisted me at check-in—one of whom was named Lily. They made me feel genuinely welcomed.
The hotel’s location in Beijing's hutong is fantastic. Given the historical context and limited car access—akin to the charming old towns in Europe—you should not expect the typical high water pressure of a modern hotel. Nevertheless, I believe this unique setting is the perfect way for visitors to explore the area.
Not only were the services outstanding (they respond to all of my request via Wechat instantly), but the amenities were also impressive. The hotel offers free coffee and tea 24/7, a free simple breakfast and afternoon tea. Plus, the complimentary laundry service was a great bonus that you typically don't find in international hotels.
Honestly, how is this not better than the so-called international name hotels? Overall, this hotel provided an incredible experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking to delve into the culture and warmth of Beijing. A round of applause to the entire team!"
"Quick Note from My Hutong Hideaway
Just left the tiny hotel tucked in Nanluoguxiang—still smiling.
Free coffee, cookies, and afternoon tea on tap. The front desk felt like a mini-UN: English flowed, and they snagged me Forbidden-City tickets in two minutes.
Handed over dirty laundry at breakfast; it came back clean and folded at dusk—zero charge.
Mattress = cloud, pillow = marshmallow, sleep = instant.
Warmest little base in Beijing—see you next time.
