My friends and I stayed here for one night during what was supposed to be the peak time for Sakura in Lake Yamanakako. This place did not disappoint despite the Sakura being shy. The view from our room
And the rooftop was incredible, the owners and workers were also incredibly kind and attentive. Overall we felt so grateful for our experience.

Incredible experience. Staff members are excellent, anticipating all needs, and ensured a comfortable stay with clear communication. They confidently used translation tools to communicate. Everything is laid out for you to use, in the tent, bathroom, campfire and kitchens (dinner and breakfast to grill). Private space and really cozy. The weather was bad so we couldn’t see Fuji-san for most of our visit but the property was well worth it no matter what. The mountain came out the say hello in the...

Visited with my family recently. It’s a family owned property, excellent service and very friendly staff.
Owners went above and beyond at every opportunity, including dropping 7 of us with luggage at nearby bus stop. Breakfast was yummy and thank you for accommodating our vegetarian request!!
Enjoyed Ryokan with traditional night wear too !
We would highly recommend this wonderful place at foothills in Mt. Fuji with Lake Yamanakako lake in walkable distance.

I had a great stay at megu fuji. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were very cozy and clean. On the rooftop you can see Mt . Fuji. Not far from Lake Kawaguchiko where you can also see Mt. Fuji and go shopping in the cute little town.

The hotel is lovely. The room with the Mt.Fuji view was big with a couch & chair from which we could view the mountain to our heart’s content. The shower/bath was large and comfortable. The beds were firm. The room was clean. The staff was accommodating.
Fuji-Q amusement park is next door, but there was no noticeable noise in the hotel.
7-11 is on property. There are multiple options available for food.
Our only complaint is that the transportation options from the rail station were not...

That’s a more authentic review if the food wasn’t actually a highlight for your family:
We stayed at Shiunso Ryokan as a family with two young children and overall had a pleasant experience.
The ryokan is definitely an older property and shows its age in some areas, but it has a traditional atmosphere that many travelers may appreciate. The staff were welcoming, and the stay gave us an opportunity to experience a classic Japanese ryokan.

Staff for check in is abundant and helps with “Japanese” service. We stayed in a Japanese-Western combo room which was well updated and spacious for family of 5. 2 different big baths in annex which were both updated and nice!
