"Best part of the Hotel the staff friendly and welcoming . Personally would never stay again . The building is grand unfortunately time and the owners have not been kind to it. Very dated and neglected in parts. Appreciate that it’s a budget hotel but come on owners update the facilities. Paid £17:95 for a one course meal in the buffet restaurant was not worth it my opinion. So did not stay for breakfast had at a local cafe instead."

"Having stayed at this hotel previously,we were hoping for a pleasant enjoyable stay as we had before. How wrong could we be, The room we were allocated was dirty so much so my partner went around the room with wet wipes to remove dust and filth from surfaces and mirrors.In the bathroom the lino flooring hadn't been mopped and the skirting boards haven't been cleaned for the past 6months I would say.The shower door leaks and the sealant around the bath is loose and as got black mould on it...The extractor fan was clogged with dust meaning it doesn't work and again hasn't been cleaned in ages.When staying in hotels the minimum we expect is cleanliness and this room was a disgrace, it's obvious nobody is checking the rooms after the cleaners have been in..."

"This place was such a disappointment. Should be closed down during renovation as have Travelodge opposite. Not clean, dust and dbrus everywhere. Builders in lifts and corridors while getting to and from rooms. A shambles. Residents bar closed at 10pm ! We went across road for late drink and they closed at 12. Breakfast was cold, dry, rubber eggs cold. Bread for toast was damp and the thinnest bread I have ever seen. No way will we return at least for next 5 years which will be how long it takes to make it decent. Shame, once the jewel of Scarborough!!"

"Our room overlooked the sea and the views were terrific. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the decor and furnishings were high quality. The breakfast was tasty and very fresh. The staff were attentive and friendly. A great place to stay."

"Great location for both centre of Scarborough and also to the dog accessible beach. Rooms were very nice and modern. Rain capes and fan were provided which was excellent. The longe area was very nice too - great hotel fit staying with dog"
