"Excellent place to stay. This hotel is in perfect quiet location across from a lovely park and a block away from the river. The very city center is in a 5-7 min walking distance. It was completely renovated and reopened in November of 2025. It is very clean and the rooms are pretty spacious. It is very close to everything and far enough from the tourist crowds.plenty of coffee shops and restaurants around. We stayed in Vienna for 9 days and never used any transportation. The best of all however is the staff - very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Bettina and ladies at the front desk are wonderful. "

"Our second stay at the Hotel Europe just off Kartnerstrasse in as many visits to Vienna! This location is simply perfect! We were just blocks from two subway stops: Stephensplatz and Opera/Karlsplatz which got us pretty much everywhere we couldn't walk to. And this location is walkable to many of the most popular art and history museums in this historic city. This hotel is modern, clean and bright! Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff is helpful and always greets you when entering the lobby. There is a restaurant and a bar in the hotel. Couldn't ask for much more!"

"This hotel is beyond amazing. I am going back in 3 days to stay for another 3 nights. I did not want to leave. This hotel is only going to get better when they start serving dinner also. They only know how to be the best in each category. This is not chain hotel. This is an experience."

"The Citadines Danube has spacious and well-decorated rooms, and it's only two stops from the VIC (conference centre), and on a direct metro line into the centre. Citadines is basically an apart-hotel, so there's also a kitchenette. Three things: the studio and executive studio are basically the same except that executive studio is on a higher floor, has a coffee machine, and costs more. Second, the hotel only cleans room once a week. You want it cleaned more than that, you pay about 25 euros, which I think is ludicrous as the trash def needs to be taken out more than once a week if you're using the kitchenette. Third, reception could not be less interested in guests coming in. They weren't unfriendly, just very disinterested. Maybe that's because there are a lot of flight crews in the hotel and so they are used to people coming in for a night or for very short days. So, if you're coming in for a conference and hotels closer to the VIC are full, and you're happy to have a very anonymous experience, this hotel is fine. If you want a friendlier hotel with more amenities, I'd choose elsewhere."

"No air conditioning. Staff told us to open windows but there were bugs flying in from outside. We end up having hard time sleeping. Bed wasn’t comfortable either."

"The hotel is very handy for the 1st district, you can easily walk everywhere. Staffing at the hotel is minimal, just one person at the reception/bar. This was not very helpful when the keycard to my room didn‘t work. The guy on reception eventually came up to my room to try and open my door, after I‘d already made several trips to reception to try diffrent keycards. At one point before he managed to open the room door he told me to come back in the morning and they‘d sort it out! The „bathroom“ offers very little privacy, Although quirky, the rooms are clean. There are no tea or coffee facilities in the room, only an area on the fifth floor where you can make a hot drink and buy snacks. This is not very convenient if you are on the fourth floor. Some rooms do not have a street view and look straight out onto a wall."
