「Sadly we had to book breakfast over the phone the previous night,that is any one picked up the phone, we realised this when our answer phone message wasn’t passed on . It felt like the owners really didn’t care for their guests and didn’t want the hassle in dealing with them. The poor young lady was coping well with the problems thrown at her but we definitely will not be staying there again. 」

「The bed was really uncomfortable, which was a surprise for a PI, as they pride themselves on the bed comfort. The bar was open late which was great. The parking is small, only 17 spots and you pay for this daily. 」

「We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.」

「Room was clean but very tired as was the building in general . Breakfast was plenty but cooked breakfast was not fresh as in sausages were hard to cut and bacon crispy and dry . Have stayed there many times in the past, it’s a lovely building in style but unfortunately hasn’t been lovingly cared for by Greene King brewery. Shower was hot and quite powerful but no shower/bath mat available was a case of do I break anything on my body trying to climb out of bath as so slippery 」

「Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day.」

「A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a beautiful hotel with a rich history in the delightful town of Lewes. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and an en-suite shower room. Dining was excellent, the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. 」
