"A great old pub with rooms in the heart of the charming village of Lindfield. About a 10 minute drive by taxi or bus from Haywards Heath station. We had dinner at the pub the first night and it was excellent and good value for money we thought. We stayed two nights and a good breakfast was included the next morning. All though the pub looks like you would expect an old worldy English village pub to look like the rooms upstairs are pretty basic in contrast. You have everything you need for a night's stay but the rooms/bathrooms could use an upgrade. It would be great if they could look and feel a bit more like the rest of the pub. Due to the buildings age not an easy thing to do but it would definitely bring more to the experience. The staff were great. All super friendly and willing to help when they can. Couldn't have asked for more really. "

"Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful Lyndsey. Easy to find, safe on site parking, slightly tricky to exit, maybe a trim of the clematis might help :- Super family room, very clean carpet, felt like new. Sofa to allow tv watching which is great. Plenty of mugs, tea, coffee all high quality items. Fridge and microwave in our room. Bed comfortable with cared for and clean linens. Breakfast superb - choices of cereals, fruit juices, yoghurt, fruit, cooked breakfast - all excellent quality and cooked with care. I had mentioned that I’m dairy free and this was catered for. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the local area. Standen and Wakehurst should you enjoy history, gardening and nature. Highly recommend and we look forward to revisiting. "The grounds are beautiful, the staff are great! We had breakfast which tasted good! The spa was relaxing but there is a bit of wear and tear in places. Overall it was a lovely night away - one thing to highlight: the bed and pillows are very soft, we usually sleep on a firm mattress and have fun pillows so we don’t sleep well and woke up a bit achey; but this is very subjective. Also the hairdryer in the room was really weak so being your own if visiting or use the ones in the spa’s changing room. "

"Beautiful village and nice pub. Staff were great and parking was easy and fairly secure. Room was basic and quiet with en-suite, very reasonable price. Nice breakfast :-) "

"The bed was really uncomfortable, which was a surprise for a PI, as they pride themselves on the bed comfort. The bar was open late which was great. The parking is small, only 17 spots and you pay for this daily. "

"Owners were nice, helpful and friendly. They cooked a very good poached egg. Room was spacious with own private bathroom. Was cold when we arrived but was able to sort heating and it heated up quickly. One little problem, the toilet seat was broken."
