Our stay was really excellent, the room had everything we needed and more! Our dinner was amazing and the breakfast had so much choice of lovely fruit, cereal, juice and great cooked food. We would definitely stay here again

Quite simply brilliant!

What an amazing experience it was staying at The Olde Forge Hotel this past weekend. The hotel offered a superb base for our weekend plans, but it was the staff that really stood out as friendly, welcoming and professional throughout. First impressions were strong as upon opening the front door to go and check in, we were greeted by a bowl of chocolate limes at reception, confirming (at least to my mind) the quality of the establishment that we were staying in. The rooms were excellent; spacious, clean and had all of the amenities that you would expect. The private bathroom and shower were brilliant and the heating was delightful throughout our stay. The purpose of our stay was to facilitate a trip to the Observatory Science Centre (https://www.the-observatory.org/) in nearby Herstmonceux and being only 10 minutes away meant that we got to enjoy a wonderful evening there star gazing knowing that we could stay as late as we wanted thanks to us being given a key to get back into the hotel. Breakfast the next day was outstanding and after fulfilling the initial obligation of some fruit and yoghurt, a Full English was on the cards and once again exceeded all expectations. Go for the poached egg option; you won't be disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would not hesitate to recommend to others nor to return ourselves. Thank you for having us!

A lovely Place to Stay

Gorgeous cosy hotel stay

Lovely cosy hotel with the friendliest hosts, Phillip and Nicky, who couldn’t have been more helpful for all our needs during our stay. We ate at the hotel one night of our stay and it was delicious. We were at a wedding the second night, otherwise we’d have happily eaten there again!

This property is unique, it is a very old property with all mod cons and some contemporary styling. Loved the facilities and I am a lover of lots of milk in my strong tea, I always have to ask for extra milk … not here, extras for all your tea and coffee making was on the landing. The room itself and the beds were comfortable, we travelled as a family of three with me and my husband in a double and our little one on a put me up. We had a tv and lots of storage space for clothes etc. A little balcony off of our room to make the most of the light evening, The place is situated on a main busy road and the balcony did over look this but after 10pm the traffic died down considerably. The owners/hosts were very lovely and attentive, Breakfast was a 10/10 and some. The hosts specifically catered for a 5 year old on top of the extensive breakfast options they offered. We had no issues during our stay apart from the room got very warm (even with the blind down durning the day as suggested) and a fan provided in the room. Would stay here again.
