"On the positive side, the location was great, near restaurants, shops, and shows. We also had a beautiful skyline view of the city in our Premium King room, which included lovely sunset views. The pictures of this room on the web showed a chair in the room, which we didn’t have, and that was disappointing, since it’s nice to have another place to sit besides the bed. The door and other areas of the room had clearly been previously damaged and painted over, which gave the room a ghetto feel. Given the hotel’s recent history as an immigration hotel, it appeared that some points of renovation had been missed. Additionally, most hotels claiming to be 4-star would include a refrigerator in rooms, but this one did not. Due to medication that requires refrigeration, we had to request one at a cost of $40, which was placed inconveniently beside the bed, due to other outlets not working. In such a small room, this required stepping over it every time getting to and from the bed. If one gets a good price, it could be worth dealing with these issues to stay here, but I don’t think I’d stay here again."

"The location of the hotel is excellent only about 5 minutes from Times Square. The room was basic but clean. Spacious enough for 3 of us. There weren’t enough plug sockets that would hold a travel adapter plug so that was a problem. The AC unit was so loud I had to turn it off at night as I couldn’t sleep. We had a nice stay."

"I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 6 months and it has been great on both occasions. Fantastic staff, great location with Madison Square Garden across the block and walkable to all of Midtown. It’s also a 10 minute walk to Hudson Yards and the Javits Centre and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. If you can get an Empire view room, you won’t be disappointed. Also, free cookies on arrival. What’s not to love?"
