This is not a new property, if that's what you're looking for — but if you're looking for anything else, this is it! No bugs of any kind — yes, I checked for bed bugs. The rooms are huge! We had 3 beds and a couch, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The front desk could not have been nicer. I'll be coming back — the location was also perfect for us.

A few things in the room needed to be fixed, like the bathroom door that didn't close. Other than that, the room was nothing fancy, but it was clean and served our purpose.

The accommodations were extremely basic and dated, especially considering the price we paid. There were very few amenities. The shampoo and conditioner were provided in small packets, there was only a partial roll of toilet paper when we arrived, no hairdryer, and the towels smelled sour when wet. The refrigerator was malfunctioning and froze everything we put inside. The curtains also wouldn’t completely close. The walls were very thin—we could clearly hear the TV in the neighboring room, and it was on through the night. The hot water was limited, which was especially disappointing because the room actually had a nice old-school tub. The coffee provided was also pretty terrible. I don’t expect luxury from a small motel, and I can appreciate simple, no-frills accommodations when they’re clean, comfortable, and priced accordingly. But at roughly $150 per night, we expected considerably more attention to the basics. Overall, the room felt tired and the standards were simply too low for the price we paid.

Highly Recommend

The owner was very nice and helpful in suggesting where to eat in the area. Thanks to him I had a delicious dinner and a nice walk at a beach in Manistee. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, big and cozy. The area is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. After all, you’re inside a national forest.

I've never experienced an easier check in. The hotel is on the edge of a beautiful national forest, with our view a quiet yard. Very relaxing. We were there for our uncle's funeral and couldn't have asked for anything more relaxing. Quaint, clean, convenient.

Excellent value and customer service!

This place is awesome and the gentleman that owns it is the kindest man you could imagine. It was like staying at my grandfather's house. Nothing fancy, but considering the alternatives in the area, the cleanliness and comfort far exceeded my expectations. Just a couple miles from tippy dam AND he has canoes and kayaks!! 10/10

Absolutely happy with our stay!

Our stay was a very positive experience. My son and I were in the area to fish for trout. Our room was very clean and fresh, stocked with everything we needed for our two day stay. Room was equiped with a small refrigerator and television with cable access. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The location was exactly where we needed to be with main street access.

The room was fine, It was stated in the listing that breakfast was available, that is one of the main reasons why I booked this place. JUst to find out on the day of that breakfast is no longer being provided. I am hoping that they update their listing for future guests

Roadside motel, room was clean. Light bulbs were out, tv reception snowy due to poor connections or too many. Outside of motel a lot of vehicles parked seemed like out door storage for RV and cars. Got what we paid for. Ok for a place to sleep.

It was a clean and spacious room. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, sheets and towels had stains but smelled clean. The water smelled horrible. Pulling in it looks like a junk yard. Weird that everything in the room was unplugged and not enough outlets to charge devices. Internet didn't work. Good restaurant just down the rd but not much else. Lots of recreation close. Ok for the price but won't be staying again.
