Absolutely gorgeous place with the most amazing staff. They can not do enough to help and are so friendly. Would highly recommended if visiting victoria falls
Shrub Lodge is situated just out of town but the ability of the staff make it easy for you to get to and from any activity. All providers of activities happily picked you up and dropped you home. The friendliness of the people of Victoria Falls was great. If you want a nice quiet clean room then the Shrub Lodge is great.
Lovely place to stay. Rooms were modern and clean and spacious. Breakfast was great value and the lodge a lovely place. Shuttles were easy to co-ordinate and the staff friendly. I would definitely stay again. The pool was nice and clean.
The staff were very helpful. The manager managed to assist us with the issue on our check in. The premises overall very clean. Water flitter was good and easily accessible. The pool very clean! My son best cooling area. Loved the breakfast service and the good food! I would highly recommend! All staff very welcoming!
It was convenient to have the restaurant on-site. The breakfast was great the first morning we stayed. The second morning we left early for Devil's Pool and had a breakfast boxed for our return. It was well packed with more than enough to fill us up for the day. Mr. Perry was great with arranging the visit to Devil's Pool. We really enjoyed our stay.
The staff are very helpful and eager to please. However they did try to overcharge us for transportation from the airport. The rooms are spacious and clean. We used the hotel transportation every day during our stay which was very convenient but did add up.
The room was very clean, the bed was a king size and was comfy. The bathroom was pretty clean and functional. The only thing is that the rain shower was not punchy enough, but it was okay as it has a soft feel. The breakfast was amazing especially the Zimbabwe pork sausages..very tasty.
My stay at the Shrub Lodge was very satisfying. The staff was friendly and attentive in every way and went above and beyond to take care of me and my son. They organized our excursions, prepared many of our meals and taxied us in and out of town almost daily. Only thing I would add is an accessable ice machine for the guests as I like drinks with extra ice and had to ask for it. Everything else was excellent.
Liked central location for the hotel to book tours. Due to distance was not able to walk into town or the falls. Great staff who were helpful cooridinating tours and Taxis. No resturants walkable but the hotel had a nice resturant for breakfast and dinner. Room were good size and water warm. Quiet.
What is dislikes was the hotel surroundings. From the picture is appeared to be in a forest. Basically the hotel property is the roof line noted in the photo. Trees are on the neighbors fenced in property. Hotel has narrow cement patios and walkways. I felt a little miss led in the property photo.
Absolutely beautiful location, only made better by the best hospitality we have ever experienced on holiday. The staff were incredible, warm and friendly and always helped us arrange tours and transport to make our trip perfect. The lodge is modern and clean with good sized bedrooms and a lovely little pool. The only change we would make is a better selection of evening meals - many of the dishes were unavailable when we had dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a lovely range of cooked and continental breakfast options, and they made sure we could eat even when we had a very early trip departure. We are so grateful for the wonderful experience and we would definitely come back. We recommend booking tours directly with the hotel, as it made the experience very simple for us!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
No hot water in the shower or the bath tub.
You are bot allowed to take fruits (apples, pears) from the breakfast buffet to eat later. You are forced to eat them in the restaurant (management decision).
The other staff ist great, though.
This is a new lodge and has only been open for a year. I stayed for 11 nights. I do not think I have ever stayed in a place that was kept so very clean. I was not well during my stay due it transpired may have been caused by the malaria tablets that I was taking. The staff took good care of me however. I found Victoria Falls exceptionally hot, and would probably have had to come home early had it not been for the excellent air conditioning in the room, and a refrigerator in my room, and regular use of the swimming pool. This pool for me was the main reason for my choosing to stay at the Shrub Lodge. Different people have different ideas on what they would like in a hotel bedroom. My main comment with regard to this would be I would have liked to have had a few more drawers. Breakfast was not a happy time for me, which I think was due to the fact that I felt nauseous every morning which unknown to me at the time may have been because of the malaria tablets.
We stayed 5 nights at the Shrub, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff weee so friendly and helpful, the food was OK, the location 6 to 8 minutes drive to the city center, it’s walkable if not too hot during the fay, and the park entrance is around 12 minutes drive. The staff were very helpful in booking all the activities. It’s good value for money.
